Iranian embassy dismisses accusations of Israeli ambassador to Australia

TEHRAN - On Thursday, September 26, 2024, in a commentary in The Australian newspaper, Amir Maimon, the so-called ambassador of the illegitimate Israeli regime to Australia, raised some baseless allegations and accusations against Iran which the embassy finds necessary to make the following clarifications on them.

1. As it has been reiterated time and again the enduring conflict between the Israeli regime and Palestine people as well as other neighboring countries including Lebanon did not commence with the military operation of resistance movements on October 7, 2023. Its roots lie in a historical background spanning approximately 80 years of Israel's protracted occupation and colonization of Palestinian territories, stealing the water resources and seizure of the maritime territory and its underlying resources of other neighbors.

2. The so-called ambassador's mention of the United Nations Resolution 1701 contradicts the unlawful course of actions by the Israeli regime as the number one transgressor of international laws, conventions, and the UN Charter concerning human rights violations, the enforcement of apartheid policies, persecution, ethnic cleansing, and genocidal acts against the Palestinian Nation, breach and noncompliance by the Israeli regime of the United Nations Resolutions 181 & 194 in 1948 on Partition of Palestine, UN Resolutions of 242 in 1967, 252 in 1968, 267 in 1969 all on illegality of land occupation by war and recalling Israel for end of occupation, UN.Res:446 in 1979 on the illegality of building settlements in occupied lands; and UN.Res:497 in 1981 on the unlawful occupation of Syrian Golan Heights are numerous cases of just a short list of endless UN resolutions ignored by this illegitimate regime that exemplify a recurring pattern of Israel's rogue behavior.

3. The Israel terrorist attacks of April 2024 against the consulate building of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus and martyrdom of 16 military advisors and other civilians, and the July 2024 assassination of the formal guest of the Iranian government, the late Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran via a coward and heinous terrorist attack are the most recent records of the Israel terrorist state. Let us not forget another Israeli terrorist criminal case in connection with weaponized explosive electronic devices that killed and injured thousands of civilians in Lebanon and elsewhere. This terrorist act has to be condemned by the UNSC and concerned international trade organizations because it endangers the safe supply chain of electronic products.

4. The brazen act of interference by Israeli regime's envoy in calling upon proscribing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as the most prominent and genuine national and sovereign ant-terror Armed Force in West Asia, alongside other accusations against a third-party country in the Australian territory must be condemned; IRGC is an Iranian proud armed force that has brought down terrorist apparatuses like MEK, Al-Qaida, ISIS and other terror machines in the region and has safeguarded IR. Iran's territory as well as regional security and stability.

5. The occupying regime of Israel and its supporters must be held responsible for the continuation and escalation of violence and crimes against civilian Palestinians, Lebanese, and other nations of the region. In the current situation as the world faces 42,000 killed in Palestine within the last 11 months and 1,500 in Lebanon in the recent 4 days and the numbers are steadily rising, Israel opposes an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon despite frequent calls by the UN and other civilized nations.

6. Iranian diplomatic endeavors, including peace-building tours throughout the region and the current representation at the 79th UN General Assembly in New York, are emblematic of our relentless pursuit to alleviate the harrowing suffering endured by innocent civilians in Gaza, the West Bank of Palestine, and Lebanon.
